Located in the Central Highlands of Kenya, Nyeri is home to over 13 coffee growing cooperatives which are all set in foothill of the country's second highest peak, Mount Kenya.

Since the 1980’s, the 900 members of the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative Society have been producing coffee in the Mathira East District of Nyeri County—the central highlands of Kenya. The cooperative has over 200 acres of well-drained red volcanic soils that are rich in phosphorus.

Coffee cherries are hand picked and wet processed at the Kieni wet mill. They are pulped, fermented, washed, and dried slowly over 2 to 3 weeks on raised beds where the moisture content is reduced to around 10%. At this point the coffee is delivered to the dry mill. After dry milling, the coffee makes its way to Mombasa to await its ride to us here at Cuvee Coffee.

We are not only proud of the farmers who produce Kumurembe, we are also proud to present this clean and dynamic coffee produced by such a committed community.
